Loreal x Balmain Lipstick Review

The past week has been an exciting one for the beauty industry, to say the least! We have seen two of this years biggest beauty launches; Fenty Beauty by Rihanna and the Loreal x Balmain Collaboration. I haven’t managed to get my hands on any products from the Fenty Beauty collection but I did pick up a couple of the lipsticks from the Balmain collab.

Balmain x Loreal

I first heard about the collab through Instagram, where my feed was constantly being shown photos of the luxurious lipsticks, amongst the biggest named models and bloggers in the industry: setting the expectations high from the start.

The collection consists of 12 shades, within 3 different “categories”. I ordered my 2 shades, Domination and Confidence, and I was pleasantly surprised with just how much L’Oreal have upped their game from drugstore to high end for this collection. The simple and classy black and gold packaging will blend well amongst other high end names within your make up bag, the only downfall I would say is that they are pretty lightweight which does show they aren’t as expensive as the rest.

I don’t actually own a bright red lip stick so decided this would be the perfect opportunity to update my lipstick collection and grab Domination whilst it was still in stock. The colour comes out well and you don’t need much of it either, it also lasts all day – brownie points all round!

Confidence is a shimmery light nude, almost similar to a gloss but not as sticky! I tend to wear more natural colours and so was drawn to this straight away and it is definitely my favourite. I saw that Lydia Millen wore this at the collaboration launch in Harvey Nichols which also enticed me to buy it. It is ideal to put on over a nude or pale pink shade and has a subtle glitter to it, which is great as it can be used every day!

L'Oréal x Balmain

Im pretty impressed with both of these lipsticks and for the price of £12, they really aren’t bad either!

Thanks Elizabeth, only my 2nd time doing flatlay style photos so that’s a lovely compliment! You should definitely have a look into the other shades too 🙂 xx
