It’s been a month since Matt and I moved into our lovely little flat together. I didn’t realise how much I’d enjoy home shopping and making our space more cosy. I’ve always felt I was more interested in shopping for clothes, shoes and bags. It seems my interests have swayed and I’m really enjoying the interior side of things recently! I spend my commute searching on Pinterest and getting inspiration from Instagram. One of my favourite accounts being Desenio
Desenio is a Scandinavian prints website that also sell frames and posters. They offer trendy and fashionable pieces at a very affordable price; perfect for those renting who don’t want to spend too much!
I honestly think I took a whole week deciding what prints to choose. As much as they offer some amazing inspiration on their website to help you decide, I just wanted them all! They offer some tips on building a “photo wall” which I will definitely be making use of when we have a bigger space to work with! Since I work in fashion and have my fashion and lifestyle blog I thought I would go with pieces that show my interests and represent “me”. This is what made me choose the Vogue print. I think posters and prints are a great way to get to know people. You can tell a lot about someone just from the way they decorate and keep their home.
Matt also has a good eye for fashion so we thought we would keep the theme for the bedroom fashion related. Since it is where we keep our clothes and have our huge wardrobe. The good thing about prints is that when you have your frames sorted, you can change the prints as and when you want. I get bored quite easily and am always changing my taste in fashion and my style, so prints are ideal if you’re like me and want to change things up every now and then. The prints come in a tube so you can also keep them safe and clean if you do decide to swap them around and buy more.
I thought having 3 posters would go well together, so we picked the Vogue svartvit, & and the Eiffel Tower print. We love to travel and Paris was one of our favourite trips together so this is a great reminder of our memories!
One of my favourite parts of our flat is our amazing brick fireplace. I absolutely love it and how it’s so open. I decided to go with the Coco Rue Cambon print to place above it and I think it works quite well. We have a little book shelf on the left of the wall where I have my old Vogue magazines and #girlboss books so feel it’s very fitting.
I already have my eye on a handful of prints I want to buy next. I can see myself getting carried away and rearranging our prints on a monthly basis as there are so many I like!
If you’re interested in purchasing some you can use my code “katiepenny” Which gives 25% off posters* between 16th – 18th January. *Except for handpicked-/collaboration posters and frames.
