If you’re coming to London then there are certain things you shouldn’t miss out on – afternoon tea being one of them! I mean, what could be better than having unlimited selections of teas, cakes and sandwiches all set out on a pretty stand right in front of you!? I recently had the Mad Hatters Afternoon Tea at The Sanderson Hotel and it has definitely shot straight to the top of my list of the best afternoon teas I’ve had!
This was the second time I’ve been here and it was just as good as the first. Based in central London, just off of Oxford Street, it’s easy to get to and the perfect place to come to to get away from the hustle and bustle of the famous shopping road in London, and fill your face with delicious food. You won’t have a clue that you’re sitting in the centre of London once inside!
But this isn’t any traditional afternoon tea. You get all the usual, but with a twist of the Mad Hatters theme from Alice in Wonderland! Imagine marble tables, unusual tea flavours and tea pots with party hats on – this is an afternoon tea that shouldn’t be missed.
The menu comes in the form of a book and is placed on top of a music box. The afternoon tea is bright and colourful, weird and wonderful – just like the film itself. Instead of the usual pastures, imagine cheesecakes and jammy dodgers. This is definitely for those with a sweet tooth!
At £48 per person it doesn’t come cheap but you get an amazing selection of food and some great memories. If you’re going for a really special occasion you can pay £58 and get a glass of champagne included too.
(They offer vegetarian choices but unfortunately isn’t so suitable for vegans)
