Nothing screams Christmas parties more than velvet, sequins and glitter and with the festive season just around the corner, it’s time to start planning our party outfits and filling our wardrobes with all those sparkly pieces!
I know it can be daunting with all the choice on the high street when looking for an outfit (plus the added pressure of finding a piece that no one else will be wearing!) So I’ve decided to narrow down my favourite going out items from across the high street and keep them in one place for you to shop easily and get some ideas! December is a month that is always jam packed with girls night outs, work parties, Christmas blogger events and family get together’s and everyone wants to be looking their best for all the photos that come with the events, so its best to get your outfits sorted as early as possible so there’s no need for those last minute rushes!
SEQUINS, SEQUINS, SEQUINS
If you saw one of my previous posts’ from earlier on the year, you’ll see I wore a sequin embellished ball gown ( see image at the top of this post and the blog post here!) and I especially love embellished pieces this time of year, I use Christmas as the perfect excuse to wear something sparkly as no one bats an eyelid… if only that were the case all year round! Kicking off my favourite party pieces, I found these sequin pieces on the Warehouse* website which you can see their going out clothes here. They have an amazing seasonal collection with a huge variety of choices so can cater for whatever your occasion – from girls night out to work Christmas party, and even Christmas jumper day!
My favourite piece from Warehouse has to be the silver sequin cami – pair this with high waisted black trousers, barely there heels and a blazer and you’re sorted for a workwear day-to-night look! Or the black sequin jumper, I actually had one similar last year and loveeeed it!
Accessories and Shoes
If you don’t want anything too glam, why not pair a blouse or sequin jumper with jeans and heeled boots for a more casual look. Perfect for those Christmas dinner and drinks events, where you want something more low key! You also cant forget bags and shoes…these can make or break any outfit! I love a high heel, but in winter – depending on the occasion – it may be a better option to go for a lower heel or event a boot! (Nobody likes open toe shoes when its snowing, eeek!) I’ve also added in my Topshop pearl bag which is currently my go-to accessory. Also, dont forget about the glam make up – glittery eye shadow or red lipstick always goes down a treat!
I can’t wait to start styling up some Christmas party outfits, and I have plenty to share – so keep an eye out on my instagram to see how they look! you can follow me here
